Another project that gives us a preview of what 3D printing’s use could be in the future. American Standard recently showed a set of spectacular 3D printed faucet with beautiful designs, made possible by the use of metal 3D printing.

The technology used for these is called laser sintering, it uses a laser beam with high heat and pressure to fuse powder metal into shape. For now, that process is not ready for mass production, as it takes 24 hours to print one faucet, but American Standard places big hopes in this technology to unleash more creative designs and rethink the manufacture process.
