Italian artist Nicolas Samori’s art can be a bit unsettling when you first see it. On first look, you see a Renaissance style painting with finely crafted shapes and colors, the Chiaroscuro atmosphere leaks a strangely morbid beauty. Over that, Samori comes back and carefuly destroys parts of the painting, creating a second layer of beauty on top of the first one. A new world opens, somewhat close to Bacon’s best work.
