The world of music always had an interest for art in general, and finding good visual ways to illustrate what the musicians did music-wise. There are still plenty of great designs created for music bands in creative video, websites, or even CD covers, but there is still something special about the design of vinyl covers. Maybe it’s the format and the larger space available to the designer. Anyway, here are some gorgeous vinyl covers for your inspiration.
1. Piers Faccini
A gorgeous cover rightfuly printed on craft paper. Only one color is used, with a cool display of feet. This was apparently created by and for Piers Faccini.
2. Fink
This rough abstract composition for Fink’s album Hard Believer is just hypnotizing. The color splashes are just perfectly balanced.
3. Lunatic Age
Lunatic Age is a band from a small French town. They got some gorgeous artwork for their vinyl cover. I’d say that the back cover looks even better than the front.
4. Salif Keita
Very famous in France where he lives and work, Salif Keita is a musician from Mali, in Africa. This colorful cover for his Calculer album is just amazing.
5. Caravels
I have no idea about how Caravels by Larava sounds like, but I would probably buy the vinyl just for the cover art. It was designed by the excellent Charlie Wagers.
6. Thrice
Veisshu, a recent album by Thrice, has a design that looks like it’s taken from a conspiracy website. I was however very well designed, with a clever choice of colors.
7. The receiving end of the sirens
A spectacular black and white vinyl cover with a gorgeous illustration.
8. The Animal Years
The songs collection of Josh Ritter get a beautiful and poetic illustration on its cover, and it works very well.
