I just happened to stumble on this funny Museum of Anti-Alcohol Posters, a gallery of anti-alcohol soviet propaganda (did you notice how the word propaganda is quickly used to describe russian or chinese advertising, but hardly ever for american stuff?).
One thing that always strikes me in these vintage russian ads is the graphic power that emerges from it. Although many of these posters are technically limited due to the technology of the time, most are quite interesting and offer a good look at the ways of communicating of the time.
