COP21 in Paris was a quite controversial event. Brutal arrests of militant ecologists were made and the least you could say is that freedom of speech wasn’t respected on that occasion.
However, the purpose of this blog is luckily not political commentary, but observing good design in all its forms, so I will only share this awesome architectural project that was created for this international event. Conceived by Encore Heureux Architects, a French architecture studio, the circular pavilion was built using recycled doors, street lights, and other objects found in the streets.
This project proves once more that you can design beautiful stuff re-using material that had other purposes initially. The façade, made of old doors, creates a wonderful pattern that give it a more human look-and-feel than most concrete walls that you see in average modern architecture.
The architects show that responsable professional in construction can make a huge difference in terms of resources use, while not giving up on quality.
